My opening at Dissident Display last Friday, the 10th of October, was a bash of a show; much cooler and more fun than I had expected it would be. To be fair, I really didn’t know what to expect, because I’d never had a solo opening before, and I was oddly nervous the day of the opening. But once people started rolling in, and I began flapping my lips to all interested (and sucking down glass after glass of wine), I was digging the whole affair, and I had an extreme amount of fun.
Ayo, Adrian, and Eric — the owners of Dissident Display — were awesome in their support, and the people who rolled in for the show were a nice mix of good friends of mine, and people in the local art scene. I sold five pieces, too, which is jacked!
There’s two more events associated with this show: an Artist’s Talk on the 23rd of October, and a closing show, which I believe is scheduled for November 1st.
Shoes, skateboards and posters based upon the show will be available on the Dissident Display website, along with prints of the pieces.
